Growing up, I had always been aware of type (fonts, typefaces, etc.) and very basic usage rules. It wasn’t until college, Type 101 and a most intense typography instructor that I truly learned to appreciate typography. I learned of pairings, personalities and best-practices. Since that time, I’ve come to find the beauty of type in its utility and whimsicality, while learning to be enamored with the lines and fluidity of letter-making. It's a skill that can never be mastered because there are so many styles to try. As Paul Rand states, “Typography is an art. Good typography is Art.”
